Junk 2 Genius
This rollicking family event promotes the arts as well as our community’s commitment to reduce, recycle, and reuse. Teams of artisan gladiators receive a box of similar recycled items—donated metal, fabric, piping, computer, bike and auto parts—and race against the clock to create a unique work of art.
When the closing bell sounds, a panel of judges critiques the final masterpieces and names the winner of the “Trophy du Trash.” Past winners include Hibbert Lumber, Gold Standard Diagnostics, Morse Construction, and Davis Patch.
Spectators have just as much fun as the artists, enjoying music – plus food, beer and wine for purchase – while rooting on their favorite team and casting votes for the People’s Choice Award.
