This December Davis Arts Center invites local artists that use the pen as their medium to exhibit in Pen It Up. The show is a one-evening, 2-hour, Second Friday Pop-Up Opening exhibition! The public is encouraged to attend the free Second Friday ArtAbout reception on Friday, December 13, from 6 to 8pm.
Pen It Up is open to anyone 18 years and older and of any skill-level. It is free to participate (no fee to exhibit). Two and 3-D work welcome, as long as pen (ink) is clearly part of the work. Limited to 1 piece per-person or group. For 2-D work, it must be able to be hung with a maximum of 2 push pins – no more and no exceptions. Davis Arts Center will provide the push pins, but you will be responsible for the installation of your work. Other than the 2 holes left by the push pins, work must not mar the gallery. Work may be for sale or purely for display. All artists will be required to complete a gallery contract and remove unsold work at the conclusion of the reception.
Due to the multifaceted nature of the Davis Arts Center facility, the Board of Directors and the Executive Director of Davis Arts Center reserve the right to deny any artwork which in their judgment is inappropriate or presents a hazard to Arts Center patrons.
Installation will occur on Thursday, December 12 from 10am – 5:30pm and Friday, December 13, from 10am – 4pm. Space will be assigned on a first- come, first-served based. Space is limited. After the reception is completed, takedown will begin at 8pm and end at approximately 9pm.
