Double Sided

November 3 – November 15, 2017

GettingReady_webQilian Yu’s photographs will be on display in the Davis Arts Center’s atrium.  The exhibit, Double Sided, is a series of images that is intended to make the viewer question their life.  We are always looking for something that we perceive to be better.  As time passes we tend to change, often without being aware of the transformation.  Do we like the way we are now, or do we pine for our previous self?

Qilian’s interest in photography began while in high school.  A decade later, he is surprised to still be doing photography.  “Beautiful things, whether they are landscapes or portraits, catch a viewer’s eye and heart.  I strive to bring peacefulness and joy to the viewer, but to also challenge perceptions.”

There will be a Second Friday ArtAbout! reception for Qilian on Friday, November 10, from 6 to 8 pm.  Qilian will be present at the reception.
