The 5 artists were selected by juror Nathan Lynch, Associate Professor and Chair of the Ceramics Program at California College of the Arts.  He earned an MFA from Mills College and studied under Ron Nagle.  Nathan is a sculptor and performance artist that has made collaboration and experimentation a major component of his practice.  Nathan comments:

In jurying the ACGA exhibition I was essentially looking for three things: craftsmanship, innovation and range of expression. The work here represents the best of those criteria.  I am particularly interested in the range of possibilities for using clay as a means of artistic expression.  In selecting these artists I was excited by the potential contrasts between the work that serve to amplify the specific touch and unique vision of each artist.

Nathan will give a talk on Friday, April 28 beginning at 5:30pm.
